JONATHAN HOLLOWAY has been appointed the first African American president at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Currently a historian and provost at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, Holloway holds a bachelor’s in American studies from Stanford University as well as two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in history from Yale University.
