Professional Appointments

Dr. Emmanuel Awuah has been named director of the Office of Multicultural Resources and Diversity Awareness at Onondaga Community College. He earned bachelor’s degrees from St. Mary’s Teachers’ College and the University of Ghana, a master’s from the University of Guelph in Canada and a doctorate from Michigan State University.

Dr. Rosalinda B. Barrera has been named dean of the College of Education at Texas State University-San Marcos. Barrera was a member of the national advisory committee on Head Start Research and Evaluation for 1999-2001 and is on the editorial board of several professional journals. She earned both  her bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate from the University of Texas.

Carl D. Burt is the new chief of police at Norfolk State University. Previously he was deputy chief of police for the city of Newport News, Va. He earned an associate degree from Thomas Nelson Community College and a bachelor’s from Christopher Newport University.
