He previously served as the associate dean of campus life at Colgate University. Cruz-Soto earned a bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College and a master’s degree and an Ed.D. from Rowan University.

She is also a professor of economics and previously served as the director of research of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
