Previously the director of the culture portfolio at the Chicagobased Joyce Foundation, Hall holds a bachelor’s in law and society and Black studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, a master’s in international and area studies from Yale University and a master’s in library and information science from the University of Washington.

SAVALAS KIDD has been named executive director of public safety at the University of Dayton (UD). A 25-year decorated police veteran, Kidd has served as UD’s chief of police since 2017. He holds an associate degree in criminal justice technology from the University of Cincinnati, a bachelor’s in criminal justice management from Union Institute and University and a master’s in human services from the UD.

NEDA HAJIZADEH has been appointed director of counseling at the Borough of Manhattan Community College’s Counseling Center. Previously director of the counselor and wellness center at Marymount Manhattan College, Hajizadeh holds a bachelor’s from Skidmore College, a bachelor’s from the International School of Hamburg and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Fordham University.

She most recently served as assistant vice president for student affairs and Title IX coordinator at the Pratt Institute. Abreu holds a bachelor’s in cognitive psychology from Hampshire College, a master’s in industrial/organizational psychology from Columbia University Teachers College and a Ph.D. in organization and management from Capella University.

She holds a Ph.D. in higher education from Maryville University of Saint Louis.

JAMES TATE has been named chief of police at George Washington University. Most recently chief of police at Rice University, Tate started his career in the Jonesboro, Arkansas police department and was later called to active duty in the National Guard where he served for 21 years in leadership positions such as military police battalion commander and lieutenant colonel.
