COLLEEN BURGESS has been named director of nursing programs at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota. In 2014, she was named one of the Great 100 Nurses in North Carolina by the North Carolina Nurses Association. Burgess received her bachelor’s and master’s in nursing from the University of Akron and a doctor of educational leadership from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.

ELIJAH ANDERSON has been named Sterling Professor of Sociology and of African-American Studies at Yale University. Prior to his new role, he was the William K. Lanman, Jr. Professorship in Sociology at the university. Anderson earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, a master’s degree from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.
