Dr. James L. Moore III
Moore, the inaugural EHE Distinguished Professor of Urban Education at The Ohio State University, is an internationally recognized scholar whose research focuses on educational equity for underrepresented students, particularly Black men and boys in urban contexts.
The announcement comes shortly after Moore's induction into the National Academy of Education, one of the highest honors in the education field. Since 2018, he has been cited annually by Education Week as one of the 200 most influential scholars and researchers in the United States.
Moore's research agenda spans school counseling, gifted education, urban education, higher education, multicultural education and STEM education. He has co-authored or co-edited eight books, published over 180 scholarly works, and secured nearly $50 million in grants, contracts and gifts throughout his career.
A co-founder of the International Colloquium on Black Males in Education, Moore is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Educational Research Association and the American Counseling Association. In 2019, he testified before the U.S. House Committee on Science, Space and Technology on broadening participation in STEM education.
Moore earned his bachelor's degree in English education from Delaware State University and both his master's and doctoral degrees in counselor education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
The Urban Education Collaborative has opened registration for the conference and is accepting proposal submissions for the gathering which will take place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
