CINDY D. KAM was named William R. Kenan Jr. Chair in the Department of Political Science at Vanderbilt University. She also serves as senior associate dean for faculty in the College of Arts and Science and is the director of the Research on Individuals, Politics & Society Laboratory at Vanderbilt. Kam holds a bachelor’s from Princeton University, and a master’s and a doctorate from the University of Michigan.

MILAGROS PEÑA
MILAGROS PEÑA has been appointed dean of the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at the University of California, Riverside. She was associate dean for behavioral and social sciences at the University of Florida College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Peña earned a bachelor’s from Iona College in New York, a master’s from the Union Theological Seminary in New York, and a master’s degree and a doctorate from Stony Brook University of the State University of New York.

DAVID M. STEELE-FIGUEREDO has been named president of Woodbury University, effective Nov. 16. He was dean of San Jose State University’s Lucas College & Graduate School of Business. He earned a bachelor’s and a doctorate from Birmingham University in England.

DWIGHT C. WATSON has been named provost and vice president for academic and student affairs at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minnesota. He was dean of the College of Education at the University of Northern Iowa. Watson earned an associate from the University of South Carolina Sumter, a bachelor’s and a master’s from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, and a doctorate from North Carolina State University.
