Police: Calif. Suspect Looked for Oikos University Administrator

OAKLAND Calif. — Police say the gunman who shot and killed seven people at a California college was looking for a female administrator when he went to the building.

Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan said at a news conference on Tuesday morning that 43-year-old One L. Goh began randomly shooting people after learning the administrator was not there.

Seven people died in the shooting on Monday at Oikos University in Oakland and three others were wounded.

A former student of a small Christian university in California who opened fire at the school was upset with the administration and students and was asked to leave the school several months ago after behavioral problems, police said Tuesday.

Officials say Goh walked into Oikos University on Monday and began a rampage that trapped some in the building and forced others to flee for their lives.

Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan said Tuesday authorities were beginning to get some hints as to Goh’s motive in the shooting.

“We’ve learned that the suspect was upset with the administration at the school. He was also upset that students in the past, when he attended the school, mistreated him, disrespected him, and things of that nature,” Jordan said Tuesday on “Good Morning America.”
