Brigham Young University (Utah) has received a $320,000 grant from The Micron Technology Foundation for microelectronics research and undergraduate training.
California State University, Northridge has been awarded $80,000 from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The funds will be used to sponsor senior student film projects, purchase hardware and software upgrades and help underwrite the university’s annual senior film showcase.

The fellowship is open to professional educators, working journalists and candidates with a passion for education writing.

The University of California, Los Angeles has received $20 million from billionaire Eli Broad for stem cell research. The donation will be used to purchase lab equipment, provide research grants and endow professorships.
