Professional Appointments

Dr. Rudolfo Arévalo has been named president of Eastern Washington University. Most recently he was the provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Texas-Pan American. Arévalo earned a bachelor’s from UT-PA, and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Michigan.

Drexel Ball has been named director of communications and public relations at Lincoln University. He had served for the past 16 years in multiple positions at Delaware State University, including in the public relations office and as executive assistant to the president. Ball earned a bachelor’s from Morehouse College and a master’s from North Carolina A&T State University.

Linda Earley Chastang has been named executive vice president and general counsel for the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education. She earned a bachelor’s from Sarah Lawrence College, a master’s from Emory University and a law degree from Howard University.
