The American Council on Education received a $1 million grant from the Lumina Foundation for Education to embark on a three-year, multifaceted project to examine the academic success and struggle of low-income adults in higher education.
Central State University (Ohio) received a $15,000 grant from Yellow Springs, Ohio, residents Carrie and Robert F. Baldwin Jr. and Mrs. Charles (Marcella) Sampson. A yearly monetary award of $500 will be given to each student with high scholastic achievement in marketing and manufacturing engineering.
Creighton University (Neb.) received a $2 million grant from the Lilly Endowment to help prepare a new generation of leaders for church and society.
