MARION GILLIS-OLION has been named dean of the School of Education at Fayetteville State University (FSU). She was the associate vice chancellor for academic affairs, SACS liaison, and director of self-study at FSU. Gillis-Olion earned a bachelor’s from Kean University (formerly Newark State College), and a master’s and a doctorate from The Ohio State University.

MANNY ROMERO has been appointed executive director of public affairs at the Borough of Manhattan Community College. Most recently, he was director of public relations at Baruch College. Romero earned an associate from Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona, a bachelor’s from Northern Arizona University and a master’s from Arizona State University.

DON-TERRY VEAL has been named chief of staff for the president at Morgan State University. He served as director of the Center for Governmental Services at Auburn University. Veal earned a bachelor’s from Southern University at New Orleans, a master’s from The University of Mississippi and a doctorate from Northern Illinois University.

MARCUS A. WHITEHURST has been named vice provost for educational equity at Pennsylvania State University. He was interim vice provost for educational equity at Penn State. Whitehurst holds a bachelor’s and a master’s from Binghamton University, State University of New York, and a master’s and a doctorate from Penn State.
