DR. HARRIET B. NEMBHARD has been named dean of the University of Iowa’s College of Engineering. Currently head of the School of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Oregon State University, she holds a bachelor’s in management from Claremont McKenna College; a bachelor’s in industrial engineering from Arizona State University; and a master’s and Ph.D. in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan.

SHARI TARVER-BEHRING has been appointed dean of the Michael D. Eisner College of Education at California State University, Northridge. Serving as the college’s interim dean for the past two years, Tarver-Behring holds a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of South Dakota, a master’s in clinical psychology from Marquette University and a doctorate in educational psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

HAZEL SIVE has been appointed dean of the College of Science at Northeastern University. Sive most recently held leadership roles at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) research enterprise. She has a bachelor’s in chemistry and zoology from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Rockefeller University.

ELIZABETH SPILLER has been named executive vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Nebraska -Lincoln. Previously dean of the College of Letters and Science at UC Davis, Spiller holds a bachelor’s in English literature from Amherst College as well as a master’s and doctorate in English and American language and literature from Harvard University.

MARKETA MARVANOVA

MARKETA MARVANOVA has been named dean of the Skaggs School of Pharmacy at the University of Montana. She is currently chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at North Dakota State University in Fargo. Marvanova holds doctorates in pharmacy, pathological neurobiochemistry and xenobiochemistry from Charles University in Prague and a doctorate in neuropharmacology from the University of Eastern Finland.

ROCHELLE L. WILLIAMS has been appointed senior director of programs for the National Society of Black Engineers. Williams recently served as project director and coprincipal investigator for the ADVANCE Resource Coordination Network. She holds a bachelor’s in physics from Spelman College, a master’s in engineering from Southern University (SU) and A&M College as well as a Ph.D. from in science and mathematics education from SU.

Most recently serving as commissioner of education for the Kentucky Department of Education, Lewis holds a master’s in urban studies and public administration from the University of Akron in Ohio and a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy analysis from North Carolina State University.

RAYMOND CLARKE has been named vice president for enrollment management at Savannah State University in Georgia. He most recently served as chief consultant of his own firm, specializing in enrollment management services for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Clarke holds a bachelor’s in marketing from Lincoln University–Missouri as well as a master’s in public administration from Southern University and A&M College.

LaMon is currently a professor and an associate dean of AU’s College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a bachelor’s from Mount Holyoke College, a master’s from Indiana University, Bloomington, and a juris doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.
