TONIETTE HAYNES ROBINSON has been named dean of educational resources at North Lake College. She currently serves as associate dean of student services at the college and online academic advisor at Tarrant County College. Robinson received a bachelor’s in communication studies, a bachelor’s in ethnic studies and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s from St. Edwards University.

SYLVESTER WILLIAMS has been named dean of the College of Business and Management at East Stroudsburg University. Prior to his new role, he served as co-director of the interdisciplinary center for data analytics and associate professor and chair of the department of business at Elizabethtown College. Williams received a bachelor’s degree from Howard University and an MBA and J.D. from Wake Forest University.

CAROLINE CHANG

CAROLINE CHANG has been appointed vice president for research and policy analysis at the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Prior to her new role, she was director of operations in the Washington, D.C. office of the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Wharton Public Policy Initiative. Chang earned a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a master’s degree from Harvard University.

MANTOSH DEWAN

MANTOSH DEWAN has been appointed interim president of SUNY Upstate Medical University. Prior to his new role, he served as a SUNY Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the university. Dewan earned an M.D. from the University of Bombay and a residency from the University Hospital at SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse University.

BYRON D. CLIFT BRELAND has been named chancellor of Evergreen Community College District. Most recenty, he was president of San José City College. Clift Breland received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park and master’s in education and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Southern California.

ANAND R. MARRI has been named dean of the Warner School of Graduate Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester. Currently, he is a professor at Teachers College of Columbia University. Marri received a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College, a master’s degree from Stanford University and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

DANETTE IFERT JOHNSON

DANETTE IFERT JOHNSON has been appointed provost and chief academic officer at Kalamazoo College. She currently serves as vice provost at Ithaca College. Johnson earned a bachelor’s in speech communication and history from West Virginia Wesleyan College, a master’s in educational psychology from West Virginia University and a master’s and Ph.D. in communication studies from Northwestern University.

MAY BERENBAUM

MAY BERENBAUM has been named editor in chief of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Currently, she is the Swanlund Chair of Entomology and professor at the University of Illinois. Berenbaum received a bachelor’s degree with summa cum laude honors from Yale University, and a Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology from Cornell University.

ANN MATHIAS

ANN MATHIAS has been appointed associate chair of clinical affairs at the University of Arizona’s Department of Family and Community Medicine. She previously served as clinical assistant professor at the university. Mathias received a D.O. from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and a residency in family medicine at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

PAUL KING has been named president and CEO of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and Stanford Children’s Health. He currently is executive director of the University of Michigan Health System’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital. King earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska and a master’s degree from the University of Iowa.

AARON I. BRUCE has been named vice president and chief diversity officer at Art Center College of Design. Prior to his new role, he served as chief diversity officer and instructor at San Diego State University. Bruce earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, a masters of international business administration from United States International University (Alliant) and a Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island.

KEITH JACKSON has been appointed dean of the College of Creative Arts at West Virginia University. Prior to his new role, he was interim dean of the college, serving since 2017. Jackson received a bachelor of fine arts in performance from Carnegie Mellon University and a master’s of music in performance and a doctor of music arts, both from Arizona State University.

SHERIDAN BLANFORD has been appointed director of inclusion for the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UWM). She most recently served as the inclusion and engagement coordinator for the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at UWM. Blanford received a bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College and an M.Ed. from the University of Washington.
