KATHRIN ENGISCH

KATHRIN ENGISCH has been named interim dean of the College of Science and Mathematics at Wright State University. Interim dean from 2015 to 2016 and associate dean from 2012 to 2015, Engisch is an associate professor of neuroscience, cell biology and physiology. She holds a bachelor’s in chemistry from Johns Hopkins University and a Ph.D. in neural science from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

DORSEY SPENCER JR. has been appointed dean of students at Colgate University. Currently director of administration in the office of the vice president for student affairs at Florida State University, Spencer holds a bachelor’s degree from Temple University, a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Ph.D. from Florida State University.

ROSITA SANDS has been named dean of the School of Fine and Performing Arts at Columbia College in Chicago. Previ-ously chair of the department of music and executive director of the Center for Black Music Research at the college, Sands has served as the school’s interim dean since 2018. She holds a doctorate in education.

KATIE CONBOY has been named president of St. Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana. Currently provost and senior vice president at Simmons University in Boston, Conboy has a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Kansas as well as a Ph.D. in English literature from the University of Notre Dame.

ANNMARIE CAÑO has been appointed dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Currently associate provost for faculty development and faculty success at Wayne State University in Detroit, Caño holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Princeton University as well as a master’s degree and Ph.D. in psychology from Stony Brook University.

SEKILE M. NZINGA has been appointed interim chief diversity officer and associate provost for diversity and inclusion at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Director of the Women’s Center and a lecturer in gender & sexuality studies at the school, Nzinga holds a bachelor’s from Morgan State University, a master’s in social work from The Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in human development from the University of Maryland.

SIMRAN TRANA has been named inaugural associate vice president of the Innovation and Commercialization Office at Indiana University in Bloomington. Most recently digital crop protection program leader at Corteva Agriscience, Trana holds a master’s in plant genetics from Punjab Agricultural University in India and an M.B.A. from the University of Ottawa in Canada.

Currently vice president of human resources, Bolton holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Alabama A&M University, an M.B.A. in corporate business from Florida International University and a Ph.D. in organizational psychology from Walden University.

Currently chief diversity officer at the university, Okubadejo is a graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, New York and holds a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.

DAYNA BOWEN MATTHEW has been ap-pointed the first female dean of George-town Law. She is currently the University of Virginia (UVA) Law School’s William L. Matheson and Robert M. Morgenthau Dis-tinguished Professor of Law; the F. Palmer Weber Research Professor of Civil Liberties and Human Rights; and professor of public health sciences at UVA. She holds a bach-elor’s from Harvard-Radcliffe College, a J.D. from UVA School of Law and a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Denver.

MARWAIN KRAIDY has been named dean and CEO of Northwestern University’s cam-pus in Qatar. A native of Lebanon, Kraidy is currently associate dean for administration and graduate studies as well as professor of global communications at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Com-munication. He holds a bachelor’s from Notre Dame University as well as a master’s and Ph.D. from The Ohio University.

STEPHANIE WHITE has been appointed asso-ciate dean for diversity and inclusion at the University of Kentucky’s College of Medi-cine. Associate professor of pediatrics at the school, she was previously associate dean for diversity and inclusion at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. White holds a bachelor’s in microbiology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a master’s in health professions education from Rutgers University and an M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
