Veterans to get some extra perks at local community colleges

JUSTIN GRIMES has been named assistant director at Virginia Tech’s Graduate School Office of Recruitment, Diversity and Inclusion. Prior to his new position, he was a graduate assistant at The University of Georgia. Grimes earned a bachelor’s, computer information systems and masters of education degrees from the University of Arkansas and a Ph.D. from The University of Georgia.

TUYEN VU has been appointed assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at Clarkson University. Prior to his new position, he served as a research faculty member for the Center for Advanced Power Systems. Vu earned a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology and a Ph.D. from Florida State University.

MÓNICA LÓPEZ LERMA has been appointed assistant professor of Spanish and humanities at Reed College. She previously served as a visiting assistant professor at the college. Prior to her new role, she served as vice president for academic affairs and dean of faculty at Cottey College. Ugochukwu received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Nigeria, a master’s of philosophy from Coventry University and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Most recently, he was the regional manager for mobilization at the American Petroleum Institute. Ross received a bachelor’s degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University, a master’s from Colorado State University and a Ph.D. from University of Colorado Denver.
