MARTY J. ALVARADO has been named executive vice chancellor for educational services at California Community Colleges. Most recently, she was senior director of cross-sector networks at the national organization Jobs for the Future. Alvarado earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Whittier College and a master’s degree in philosophy and cultural analysis from the Universiteit van Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Currently, she is interim president at Georgia Gwinnett College and associate provost for strategic initiatives and innovation at Georgia State University.
