PATRICIA WILLIAMS LESSANE has been appointed associate vice president for academic affairs at Morgan State University. She currently is executive director of the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture at the College of Charleston. HSIAO-TUAN CHAO has been named a Mc-Nair Scholar at Baylor College of Medicine. She is a faculty member at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute and associate program director of the basic neuroscience pathway in pediatric neurology at the college. Chao earned two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree and Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine.
