YAN SEARCY has been named dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at California State University at Northridge. Searcy currently serves as associate dean in the School of Health and Human Services at Southern Connecticut State University. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, an M.S.W. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.

JEN BACON was named dean of the College of the Arts and Humanities at West Chester University (WCU). She has served in countless roles at WCU, most recently serving as the interim dean of the College of Arts and Humanities. Bacon earned her bachelor’s from the University of South Carolina, master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati, and a Ph.D. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

JEFFREY ALSTON was named director of University Career Services at East Tennessee State University. Alston previously served as associate director of employer relations and internships at The College at Brockport, State University of New York in Brockport. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Winston-Salem State University, an M.B.A. from Morgan State University and an Ed.D. from the University of Rochester.

ANDRE L. GREEN has been named executive director of the Assessment Reform Organization, The National Center for Fair& Open Testing (FairTest). Green holds a bachelor’s degree from Bard College at Simon’s Rock.

NANCY AMATO

NANCY AMATO was selected head of the Department of Computer Science and an Abel Bliss professor of engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), effective Jan. 7, 2019. Amato will be the first woman to lead the department. She previously served as a regent’s professor and Unocal professor of computer science at Texas A&M University. She received a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, a bachelor’s from Stanford University, master’s degree from University of California at Berkeley, and a Ph.D. from UIUC.
