He is interim dean of the College of Health and Social Sciences and a professor at San Francisco State. Alvarez earned bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Irvine and a master’s and a doctorate from the University of Maryland, College Park.

CARLA JACKSON BELL has been selected as dean of the Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science in the New Millennium at Tuskegee University. She served on the faculty and was director of multicultural affairs in the College of Architecture, Design and Construction at Auburn University. She earned a bachelor’s from Tuskegee University, a master’s from the Savannah College of Art & Design and a doctorate from the Union Institute & University.

He was associate provost for international initiatives, chief international officer, director of the Confucius Institute and a professor of applied linguistics at Georgia State University.
