Bucks County Community College Receives $25,000 Software Lab Gift
In an effort to boost the number of engineers in the greater Philadelphia area, Synergis Technology has donated $25,000 worth of software to Bucks County Community College. The gift of AutoCAD(R) MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) software comes in the form of a 25-seat classroom lab designed by Synergis’ Engineering Design Solutions Division. The gift was funded by a grant from GlaxoSmithKline and Autodesk, Inc. through the Autodesk Invest in Education Program.

White House HBCU Initiative Chief Quits During Contentious Board Meeting
On the job for slightly over a year, White House Initiative on HBCUs Executive Director Charles Greene has called it quits. This came at a meeting of the President’s Board of Advisors on HBCUs last week, in which several members expressed frustration with Greene for failing to deliver on time a completed 2004-05 report on federal agencies’ grant activity with HBCUs.
