ASU Looks Back on 3 Decades of American Indian Projects Work
The bulky, 1970s-era phones stacked in a corner of Edwin Gonzalez-Santin’s office at Arizona State University remind him how far he’s come. Back when the phones were new, he taught courses via conference calls to students in Navajo communities from Tempe to New Mexico who would have lost their vital jobs if they had left their reservations to attend classes on campus.

Students representing American Indian tribes across Arizona are gaining real-world business experience they can apply toward starting their own enterprises at the Native American Youth Entrepreneur Camp, this week at the University of Arizona, the university announced.

Penn State Receives Grant for Leadership Training
Penn State’ College of Education has received more than $960,000 to offer new graduate fellowships to American Indian and Alaska Native students who are interested in becoming school principals, the university announced.. The fellowship program is funded by the Office of Indian Education, part of the U.S. Department of Education.
