LITTLE ROCK, Ark. An audit by the U.S. Department of Education claims Philander Smith College owes the department more than $400,000 in mishandled student aid funds. Alabama Desegregation Case Coming to a Close
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. A 25-year-old desegregation case involving Alabamaâs colleges and universities is coming to a close, as U.S. District Judge Harold Murphy has ordered the state to set aside $46 million in surplus education funds.
