Dr. Eric Bishop

Bishop 300x300Dr. Eric Bishop has been named the next president of Riverside City College in California. The community college enrolls nearly 22,000 undergraduate students, 7 percent of whom are Black.

Before his interim presidential appointment in August 2025, Dr. Bishop served as Riverside City College’s interim vice chancellor of educational services. Prior to his arrival at Riverside, he served as interim vice chancellor of enrollment management for the University of La Verne in California. Earlier, he was superintendent/president of the Ohlone Community College District. Dr. Bishop has also served in a variety of leadership roles at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

“President Bishop’s lifelong engagement in education has uniquely prepared him for his new role as president of RCC,” said Wolde-Ab Isaac, chancellor of the Riverside Community College District. “He is a driving force behind raising the standard of care at RCC and throughout the district. As we put new tools and software in place to help our counselors, advisors, and faculty better engage and interact with our students, President Bishop will ensure that these new resources are fully implemented. He is 100 percent committed to helping all of us serve our students with a higher standard of care.”

Dr. Bishop holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism, a master’s degree in communications, and a doctorate in educational leadership, all from the University of La Verne.
