Sylvia Torti has been named the 20th president of Westminster University. Torti currently serves as president of the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine.

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce Dr. Torti’s appointment to become our twentieth president,” said Preston Chiaro, chair of the Westminster University Board of Trustees. “The Board has enormous confidence in Dr. Torti’s ability to embrace change while honoring our core mission and lead us into the future.”
Torti holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Earlham College and a Ph.D. in biology from the University of Utah.
