
Allison Renee Webel has been named the next dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Michigan. Webel will also hold the title of professor of nursing with tenure in the School of Nursing.
“Throughout her career, [Webel] has connected physiology, behavior and digital innovation to help people live longer, healthier lives. As a leader, she understands how to build the research environments where those breakthroughs can take root and grow. She has shown how rigorous discovery, interdisciplinary collaboration and investment in emerging areas like digital health can expand both scientific impact and
real-world health outcomes,” said Dr. Laurie McCauley, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the University of Michigan.
Webel earned a B.A. in sociology and B.S.N. from The Ohio State University. Webel also earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in nursing from University of California, San Francisco.
