
Breana M. Ware has been named inaugural general counsel at Spelman College. Prior to joining Spelman, Ware served as vice president – counsel for a national development and construction firm. Ware also had a nearly six-year tenure on the legal affairs attorney team at Kennesaw State University.
“In this era of rapid change, institutional stewardship is more critical than ever,” said Interim President Rosalind Brewer. “Breana Ware is not only a seasoned legal expert but a strategic partner who will help us streamline our operations and safeguard our legacy. This hire is a direct investment in Spelman’s future, ensuring we remain the premier institution for women of African descent for generations to come.”
Ware earned her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and graduated summa cum laude from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature.
