Caryl Montero-Adams
In the permanent role, Montero-Adams will lead units including Campus Assistance, Response, Evaluation, and Support (CARES); Center for Commuter Life; Center for Student Organizations and Activities; Esports Engagement Center; Glazer Center for Leadership and Service; Orientation, Transition, and Family Engagement; Pierce Greek Life Center; and SDSU Connects. The Dean of Students office also supports campuswide efforts related to student success and engagement.
Montero-Adams joined SDSU in 2011 and has held a series of increasing leadership roles, including assistant director and director of Student Life and Leadership, and assistant dean of Students for Student Life.
Montero-Adams holds a bachelor’s degree in health promotion and education from the University of Cincinnati, a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from Indiana University, and a doctor of law and policy degree from Northeastern University.
