Samira DaroubSAMIRA DAROUB has been appointed director of the Everglades Research & Education Center of the University of Florida. She joined the faculty in 2000. Located in Belle Glade, Florida, the center’s campus includes offices, laboratories, greenhouses, a 700-acre research farm, and residential dormitories and housing for graduate students and visiting scientists in the heart of the Everglades Agricultural Area. Daroub earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and a diploma in agricultural engineering and a master’s degree in soil sciences from The American University of Beirut in Lebanon. She holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
