Texas lawmakers put five bills on hold, including one that would prevent colleges and universities from penalizing veterans and families if Veteran Affairs funds are delayed.
On Wednesday, the House Higher Education Committee marked House bill 846, authored by Rep. John Raney, R-College Station, as pending. He filed the bill in January.
