12 Hours or 18 Hours? It Will Cost the Same

PINEVILLE, La. — Louisiana College in Pineville will implement a flat tuition rate for full-time students whether they take 12 or 18 credit hours.

The Town Talk reports the flat tuition rate will begin this fall and will cost $8,000 for one semester or $16,000 for a year.
Louisiana College President Rick Brewer says students can leverage this economic advantage and finish college in four years instead of five. To graduate in four years, a student must average 16 hours per semester.

According to the school’s website, if the semester rate is too steep, students can enroll part-time and take less than 12 hours for $500 per credit hour.

Brewer says the college is concerned about the economics of a college degree and believes in the value of a comprehensive liberal arts degree.
