She is currently dean of the college and a professor of literature and African-American studies at Princeton University. Smith earned a bachelor’s from Bates College, and a master’s and a doctorate from the University of Virginia.

COLLEEN HANYCZ has been appointed president of La Salle University, effective in July. She is currently principal of Brescia University College in Ontario. Hanycz earned a bachelor’s from the University of Toronto, a bachelor’s from Dalhousie University and a master’s and a doctorate from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.

RHONDA TRACY has been named chancellor of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, effective April 16. She is currently the senior vice president for academic affairs at West Virginia University at Parkersburg. She earned a bachelor’s from the University of South Carolina, a master’s from West Virginia University and a doctorate from Ohio University.

REV. EDWARD L. WHEELER has been named president of the Interdenominational Theological Center, effective in April. He is a former president of the Christian Theological Seminary.
