CLAYTON STATE UNIVERSITY’S SCHOOL OF NURSING (Ga.) has been awarded the Nursing Workforce Diversity Grant of $335,299 for three years from the Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration.

INDIANA UNIVERSITY, BLOOMINGTON, has been awarded an $80,000 grant from the Spencer and Teagle Foundations’ initiative for Systematic Improvement of Undergraduate Education in Research Universities for a three-year project to document and improve student learning in history.

NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY has received a $1.4 MILLION grant from the National Science Foundation to study public understanding of nanotechnology health risks. Specifically, researchers will work to determine how the public absorbs scientific information on the emerging technology and other technical issues.

OBERLIN COLLEGE (Ohio) has received a $1.2 MILLION gift from trustee Clyde McGregor to assure that none of its students who are eligible for the federal Pell Grant will need to take out loans to cover their tuition and fees if they are unable to pay for their education through scholarships and grants.

SIERRA COLLEGE (Calif.) has received a $470,000 GRANT to develop a training program for solar panel installers from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office.

SOUTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY has received $2 MILLION from the National Science Foundation to enhance its astronomy program.

TUFTS UNIVERSITY (Mass.) has received $136 MILLION, the largest gift in its history, from alumnus and Boston technology pioneer Frank Doble. With the funds the university will begin the development of an interdisciplinary research lab and bolster financial aid support.
