SALISBURY N.C.
Catawba College’s president of more than five years plans to retire at the end of the 2007-2008 school year, officials announced Tuesday.
Robert Knott served as provost from 1982 to 1989 and has been president for more than five years. He said his planned retirement “was in the best interest of the college.”
Knott left Catawba in 1989 to serve as president of Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tenn. From 1999 to 2002, he was chancellor of Mars Hill College until returning to Catawba.
