Professional Appointments

Elizabeth Chen has become the sixth president of the New England College of Optometry. She is the founding CEO of Marathon Biopharmaceuticals and the head of Circe Biomedical. Chen earned a bachelor’s from Yale University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Booker T. Anthony has been named president of the College Language Association. He is currently an associate professor of English at Fayetteville State University (N.C.). Anthony earned a bachelor’s from St. Augustine’s College, and a master’s and doctorate from The Ohio State University.

 

Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr., has been named the Alphonse Fletcher Jr. University Professor at Harvard University (Mass.). He is director of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard. Gates earned a bachelor’s from Yale University, and a master’s and doctorate from Clare College, Cambridge.
