Linda L. Ammons has been named dean of Widener University School of Law, effective July 1. She will be the first female and the first African-American to lead the law school. Currently, Ammons is serving as associate dean and professor of law at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. She earned a bachelor’s from Oakwood College, and a master’s and law degree from The Ohio State University.
Pamela Bernard has been named vice president and general counsel at Duke University effective July 1. She is currently vice president and general counsel at the University of Florida. Bernard received her bachelor’s and a law degree from the University of Florida.
Judith Gordon, a renowned pianist, has joined the Smith College faculty as an assistant professor of music. She was named “Musician of the Year” in 1996 by the Boston Globe and was most recently artistic co-director for Music from Salem in New York. She is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music.
