DANIELLE LARAQUE-ARENA has been named president of SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, effective January 14. She is chair of the department of pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and a professor of pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. Laraque-Arena holds a bachelor’s and an M.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Nasir earned a bachelor’s from UC Berkeley and a doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles.
