JUDY K. SAKAKI was named president of Sonoma State University, effective July 1. She is vice president of student affairs in the Office of the President of the University of California System. Sakaki holds a bachelor’s and a master’s from California State University, Hayward (now California State University, East Bay) and a doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley.
