DENISE BATTLES has been named president of the State University of New York College at Geneseo, effective July 1. She was provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, as well as a professor of geography and geology. Battles earned a bachelor’s from Colgate University and a doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles.

CELENA MONDIE-MILNER has been appointed director of new student services at The University of Texas at Austin, effective June 1. Mondie-Milner has served as director of orientation and new student programs at Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia. She earned a bachelor’s and a master’s from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

W. MARICHAL GENTRY has been named dean of students at the University of the South. He was associate vice president for student life and senior associate dean of Yale College. Gentry earned a bachelor’s from the University of the South and a master’s from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
