Sharmila Makhija was named professor and chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in the Bronx, New York. She will take on her new role on April 1. Currently, Makhija is a professor and chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Makhija earned a bachelor’s from Cornell University and an M.D. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
