Dr. Ted Martínez Jr. has been named president and superintendent of Río Hondo Community College (Calif.). Previously, he served as president of Grossmont College. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s from Sul Ross State University and a doctorate from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
Dr. Derrick Alridge has been appointed director of the Institute for African-American Studies at the University of Georgia. He earned a bachelor’s and master’s from Winthrop University and a doctorate from Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Pamela Brown has been named dean of the School of Arts & Sciences at New York City College of Technology/CUNY. Most recently, she served as acting dean of the college. Brown holds a bachelor’s from the State University of New York at Albany, a master’s from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a doctorate from Polytechnic University.
