Academic Appointments

Cassandra Berry has been named an associate vice president for the
new office of equity and diversity at the University of North Texas.
Previously, she was assistant vice president and director of the office
of equal opportunity and multicultural affairs at UNT. Berry earned a
bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stephen F. Austin
State University.

Dr. Milton Blackmon has been named assistant director of the
pre-major advising center and the dean’s office at Duke University.
Previously, he was an academic advisor at the University of Akron.
Blackmon earned a bachelor’s degree in religion from Oakwood College
(Ala.); a master’s degree in education from Fayetteville State
University; and a doctorate in educational administration from the
University of Akron.

M. Patricia Clifford has been named associate vice president for
government relations at Temple University. Previously, she was the
founder of MPC Communications and manager of communications for the
Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority. Clifford earned a bachelor’s
degree in communications/journalism from Hampton University.

Ron Cooper has been named the new football coach at Alabama A&M
University. Previously, he was the head coach at the University of
Louisville. Cooper earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from
Jacksonville State University (Ala.); and a master’s degree in athletic
administration from Appalachian State University (N.C.).

Sidney H. Evans Jr. has been named vice president of fiscal affairs
at Dillard University (La.). Previously, he was chief financial officer
for the District of Columbia’s Government Metropolitan Police
Department. Evans earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the
University of North Carolina; and a master’s in business administration
from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Lady June Hubbard has been appointed assistant professor of
education/psychology at Wheelock College (Mass.). Previously, she was
instructor of human development and psychology. Hubbard earned a
bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Hampton University; a
master of education degree in chemical dependency from John Carroll
University (Ohio); and a doctorate in developmental psychology from
Boston College.
