NEWTONA âTINAâ JOHNSON has been appointed interim vice provost for academic affairs at Middle Tennessee State University. She was a professor of English and director of the universityâs womenâs and gender studies program. She earned a bachelorâs from the University of Sierra Leone, a masterâs from Dalhousie University in Canada, a masterâs from Concordia University in Canada and a doctorate from Emory University.
