Dr. Andrea A. Hayes-Dixon is the first Black woman appointed to serve as dean and senior vice president of the Howard University College of Medicine. Her appointment as chair of the Scientific Management Review Board at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services runs until June 2026. Hayes-Dixon has also been elected a member of the National Academy of Medicine, which addresses issues in health, science, medicine and related policy and informs public policy decisions.
