Valerie Dent, Suny System Administration

Valerie Dent was appointed vice chancellor for community colleges at the State University of New York (SUNY) System Administration in July 2025 after serving as interim vice chancellor since September 2024. Her responsibilities include advancing SUNY policies and initiatives in support of the 30 community colleges in the SUNY system. This involves working to strengthen access, equity and student success. She brings to the position experience within the SUNY system addressing student success and diversity.
