Senior communications major Emma Malabuyo became an Olympian in 2024 after representing the Philippines at the Olympic Games in Paris. UCLA gymnastics head coach Janelle McDonald says Malabuyo, who has a 3.774 GPA, has grown into an incredible leader and source of positive energy for the team.
“Emma holds herself to a high standard and does not waver from working to be her best in any circumstance,” says McDonald. “Her gymnastics accolades and experience speak for themselves but it is her leadership, positivity, hard work and connection with others that really have encompassed the Bruin spirit and helped her etch her legacy in our program for years to come.”
